Lifeline

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Troy. I would like to take a minute to tell you about myself and my interests.

I was born on August 18, 1990. I was adopted at birth, and love the fact that I am adopted. I love my family and would not give it up for the world.

My gradeschool life was nothing special. I was the victum of bullying. Because of this, I become a very quiet, secluded person. But all of that changed when I went to high school...

I found out that I could sing my freshman year! I also discovered that I wasn't too bad at it and that "Hey! This is actually kinda fun!" I soon found myself engrossed in musical theater. In the past three years, I have managed to perform in about sixteen musicals and two plays. My favorite of all time was my most recent show, Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore, where I played Josephine, the lead! (picture above) My other two favorite roles were Babette in Beauty and the Beast, and Adult Cosette in Les Miserable, School Edition.

In addition to singing, I also love to play and compose music. I play the piano, keyboard, and Ocarina (that is the musical instrument that Link plays in the famous video game The Legend of Zelda). I have composed over 20 songs, and some of which my high school honors choir, the Goliards (which I was a member of), performed.

Aside from theater in High School, I competed in what is called Solo and Ensemble. I received nothing less than a rating of one all four years at either the district or state level. In my junior and senior year of high school, I received all perfect scores within singing at districts and within singing and sight reading at states.

This past summer, I had an amazing experience. My [old] voice teacher and I decided that it was time for me to record a CD. Even though it took two weeks to record, it turned out amazing! I was able to sing some of my favorite songs on it, including the title theme from The Phantom of the Opera, and Poor Wandering One from The Pirates of Penzance (also by Gilbert and Sullivan). But that's enough about the musical me.

I absolutely love going to the park with my boyfriend, Ben. We end up spending hours on end just swinging on the swings, and trying to see just how long it will take us to get down the big swirly slide because we are too big to be on it!

That's really all there is. Hope you enjoyed reading my blog.
